Salem Heritage Trees Walk

This walk explores four of the Heritage Trees in Salem. The goals of Oregon Travel Experience’s Oregon Heritage Tree program are to recognize Oregon trees of significance, to educate the public about their value, to promote their appreciation and to protect them as part of the state’s heritage.

 

We will wander the Capitol grounds and park until we get at least 2 - 2.5 miles in.

 

Sign up with Sandra (text preferred) by noon the day before (03/18). Bring a snack or lunch. 


Difficulty: Easy

Pace: Moderate to Slow

Hiking Distance: 2 - 2.5 miles RT.

Elevation Gain: 13 feet.

Driving Distance: N/A

Hiking Trip Ratings:
EASY: Maximum of 5 miles round trip, elevation gain less than 1000 feet
MÉDIUM: 6-10 miles round trip, elevation gain 1000-2000 feet
HARD: Long, difficult, and strenuous

To reimburse drivers for vehicle operation costs, the suggested donation by passengers is $0.10 per mile per person to the driver.
