Great trip report. So many new skills used!!! Way to think through and protect everyone, Shonee!

Congrats everyone!

As for the team thoughts, we all know how wildly conditions can vary on the mountain. What's an S1 in optimal conditions certainly isn't in less than ideal conditions. In general though, I agree. I think Hood is more technically demanding, especially for individuals than many of the other peaks we climb.

Nothing quite like front pointing with 1000' of exposure below you :)

Great work all!

Thank you, Shonee!

A solid trip report and I especially enjoy, and completely agree with, everything said in the "Team Thoughts on Mt. Hood"

CONGRATULATIONS TEAM!!! WELL DONE!!!

Fellow climbers,

A small team of Chemeketans climbed Mt. Hood this past weekend. Congrats to Kaitlin Sommerfeld and Geoff Barstow for their first Hood summits, and to Laurie Muhlbauer and John Mandrafina for their second!

I've attached a trip report, which includes a link to our shared photo album.

This climb was part of a series of "off-season" outings I led. We had about 20 different climbers participate in climbs (Goat Peak, South Sister, Mt. Hood), training hikes (Halls Ridge, Mayflower) and an overnight snow skills session at Maxwell Sno Park.

See you at climb school!
