Clear Lake loop

About this event

Three thousand years ago lava flows from the High Cascades dammed the McKenzie river, creating Clear Lake, the headwaters of the McKenzie. The loop around Clear Lake offers lots of variety, springs, lava crossings, old growth forests and a rustic resort with a café. Fall is beautiful here with scarlet leaves and turquoise water. We may stop at Sahalie and Koosah Falls for a short 1 mile hike on the way home.
