Buck Mountain Loop, Silver Falls State Park
About this event
[CHANGED FROM THE PERIMETER TRAIL DUE TO PARKING LOT CLOSURE]
The Buck Mountain Loop is a quiet refuge in Silver Falls’ expansive backcountry. The trail goes through a beautiful old growth forest of Douglas fir and hemlock, and we’ll also see some bigleaf maples. We may have to share the trail with an occasional horse, but this is still one of my favorite hikes.
Hike Type: Loop
Distance: 8.5 miles
Elevation gain: 1,046 feet
