Detroit Flats Dike Trail to Piety Knob
About this event
Piety Island in Detroit Lake is usually accessible in winter until early or mid March. The reservoir is kept low for flood control. The lake level must be at or below 1538 feet to have an exposed land bridge we'll be walking on. The leader will check before we commit to the hike. The island has a campground, normally only accessible by water, and a trail that leads up to Piety Knob. The trail is not maintained well enough to reach the top but we'll have views along the way as far as we get. We'll have a lunch after returning at the day use area park in Detroit.
