About this event
I am offering Vesper Peak along the Mountain Loop Highway in the Monte Cristo Range on August 13-14 as a SLOWER PACED scramble. From the Sunrise Mine Trail we will hike up to Headlee Pass and then on to upper Vesper Creek to make camp on a grassy bench above the stream or further upstream near the lake. Summit Vesper the next day and then hike out. This is a stunning area and due to the popularity of this nontechnical mountain this is a weekday climb. Slower paced does NOT mean you are not fit. It is a grueling hike up to Headlee pass. If you are impatient with a slower pace please do not apply. Three open spots
Elevation: 6221 ft.
8 miles RT and 4,000 feet gain
