Hawk Mountain

Mary Coleman | Published on 7/13/2025

Hawk Mountain on the southern edge of the Mount Hood Ranger District is a special hike. Amazingly, we were the only group on the trail!
Thanks to our warm and dry weather, the flowers were early and less prolific, but Mt. Jefferson and the 1930's lookout cabin were as wonderful as usual. We also played the usual Chemek game of "Name the Mountain in the distance." The ice cold spring which supplied the cabin was flowing clean and delicious.
Enjoying the day and the company of friends were: Eileen Harder, Pam Thomas, Ann Adamcik, Randy Selig, Sumon Montri, Karen Huntzinger, Martin Doerfler, and Mary Coleman, leader.
