This three day climb of Mt. Shasta (14,179 ft) includes an overnight backpack to a high alpine camp and climbing the mountain’s only safe snow/ice-free route. The route offers a glimpse into what Mt Rainier could look like in a snow-free future. With the high number (seriously) of people attracted to the mountain, the weekday schedule will hopefully have fewer climbers on the route. The climbing is not technically difficult but with over 7.500 feet of elevation gain on a loose surface it will be not be easy.

We will meet near Mount Shasta on the morning of August 17th. In the event of poor air quality or other hazards, we will consider other mountain options.
