Baskett Slough, Morgan Lake/Moffitti Loop
About this event
This hike is limited to 8 hikers. Please contact leader to register. A second driver will be needed. We will meet at the West Salem Safeway to carpool to the trailhead on Coville Road. First, we will hike the Morgan Lake and Moffitti Marsh loop before entering the oak forest with guaranteed Acorn Woodpecker antics before climbing up to the Observation deck where we will eat lunch before descending back to our cars.
Most of this hike is out in the open. After a rain it can be quite muddy. Bring hiking poles, hiking boots, carry water and bring a lunch.
Binoculars are also recommended.

Hiking Trip Ratings:
EASY: Maximum of 5 miles round trip, elevation gain less than 1000 feet
MEDIUM: 6-10 miles round trip, elevation gain 1000-2000 feet
HARD: Long, difficult, and strenuous
To reimburse drivers for vehicle operation costs, the suggested donation by passengers is $0.10 per mile per person to the driver.
